Presumably with effect from January 2010, a new electronic toll system will be replacing the vignette in Slovakia. Consequently tolls for most motorways and many other federal roads in Slovakia, for vehicles of 3.5 tons and above, will have to be settled by means of the OBU device. The new toll system is based on a satellite system – similar to the German toll system. The toll rate is based on the gross vehicle weight, the number of axles and the pollutant category of the vehicle.

In order to ensure a smooth registration process for the new electronic toll system in Slovakia UTA will, of course and as usual, take care of all necessary administrative procedures for you.
