UTA sets new future course for its personnel

  • Kay Otte moves to Key Account Management
  • Stefan Horst is the new Head of Marketing

Kleinostheim, Germany – 6th July 2016: UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA) implements new internal structures: On the 1st August 2016 the long-time Marketing Director, Kay Otte, will be moving to Key Account Management in order to bring his expertise into this newly created sector of the fuel-card and service-card provider. The new manager in Marketing is Stefan Horst, who is responsible in particular for the internationalising of the brand as well as the setting up and expanding of advertising strategies for its business operations. In this capacity he will be reporting directly to Volker Huber, CEO at UTA.

After almost 15 years at the top of UTA’s marketing, Kay Otte will now be taking up a new challenge: as the new Key Account Manager at UTA he will be directly concerned with the interests of strategically important key clients, and he will furthermore be responsible for client consultation, support and expansion of the existing partnership network. This newly created position is part of the internationalisation strategy of this fuel-card and service-card provider, which will be expanding its international business in the coming years – above all in Eastern Europe – and operating more closely with its clients. “Kay Otte has given UTA a new image in these last few years and actively boosted the company’s performance with his specialised knowledge, his experience and his networking. We would now like to utilise his wide-reaching expertise and practical experience in our newly created Key Account Management sector in order to more effectively attain our company targets,” says UTA’s CEO Volker Huber. “At the same time we are very pleased that with Stefan Horst, we have been able to enlist such a multi-facetted marketing and communications expert who will in future be responsible for UTA’s eternal image.”

After graduating from legal studies in Cologne in 2001, Stefan Horst joined the executive board as an assistant at Schufa Holding AG, where in 2003 he had already become press officer and manager of the public relations department. After five years he moved to the law firm of Beiten Burkhardt in Frankfurt where, until the end of 2009, he actively took part in setting up and expanding the marketing and public relations departments, and was also responsible for the professional market presence in Europe, Russia and China. Before joining UTA, Stefan Horst managed the Dahler & Company real estate firm in Bonn for more than five years with a focus on communications, marketing and sales. “With Stefan Horst on our staff, we have an experienced PR and marketing professional among us,” Volker Huber is pleased to say about this new member of the team. “His years of experience at home and abroad will help us to gather even more speed for our business ventures in Europe.”
